Hart Trophy for the league’s most valuable player

"They're a little bit like us, blocking shots, tightening up, winning games, 1-0, 2-1," Richards said. "It's going to be tight — there's not going to be much ice out there the way Hunter's got them playing."

So far in the playoffs, Richards leads the Rangers in points (5), shots (31), face-off percentage (50.4), and shots blocked by forwards (10).

His statistics are similar to those of Ovechkin, who leads Washington in points (5), shots (28), and that other Ovechkin specialty, hits (31).

Across the dressing room, Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers' goalie, was talking about how it felt earlier in the day when he learned he had been named a finalist for the Hart Trophy for the league's most valuable player in the regular season.
